Anne est née en 1978. Elle a grandi en France en Touraine et vit aujourd'hui près de Paris.

Il y a quelques années, elle a perdu pieds, elle se noyait. Elle avait besoin de revenir à l'essentiel, se recentrer, se réaligner.

C'est en revisitant ses souvenirs qu'elle renoue pleinement avec la création :

Enfant, elle pratique la poterie. Elle aimait pétrir, donner forme, mais aussi colorer et découvrir la surprise des couleurs définitives après cuisson.

Adolescente, elle prend plaisir à confectionner des cadeaux de ses mains, explorant d'autres techniques. Elle coud également ses premières créations vestimentaires, et se lance dans la peinture : elle cloue les tissus sur un support en bois en travaillant les plis, les volumes et les volutes, puis elle peint.

Aujourd'hui, elle a repris les pinceaux. La peinture est son refuge, un moyen de questionner ses émotions, de se retrouver, de s'ouvrir aux autres et au monde.

Prochainement elle installera son atelier dans un espace dédié. L'occasion d'explorer de nouvelles techniques et des formats plus grands. Une perspective passionnante, l'aventure ne fait que commencer !

Anne GERBIER was born in 1978. She grew up in France in Touraine and now lives near Paris.

A few years ago she lost herself. She was drowning. She needed to get back to the essentials, to refocus, to realign.

It was by revisiting her memories that she fully reconnected with creation:

As a child she practiced pottery. she loved kneading, giving shape, but also coloring and discovering the surprise of the final colors after baking.

As a teenager, she took pleasure in making gifts with her hands, exploring other techniques. She also sewed her first clothing creations, and started painting : she used to nail fabrics to a wooden support by working on the folds, volumes and volutes, and then she painted.

Today she picked up the paintbrushes. Painting is her refuge, a way to question her emotions, to find herself, in order to open to others and the world.

Soon she will set up her workshop in a dedicated space. The opportunity to explore new techniques and larger formats. An exciting perspective, the adventure has only just begun!

Créer m'apaise et me nourrit.

Je travaille principalement sur papier, l’aquarelle les encres et la peinture à l’eau. J’explore, essaie de me faire confiance, accepte l’inconnu. Chaque jour je démystifie la page blanche, écoute mes envies et profite de l’instant présent en peignant.

La métamorphose et la transformation sont mes thèmes de prédilection. J'aime voir mon travail comme une invitation à accueillir nos questions et nos doutes, à explorer les possibles, à oser. L’ancrage de ma démarche artistique et de mon parcours personnel.

Je travaille actuellement sur l’inattendu de l’eau : la diffusion des pigments, le mélange de couleurs, la soif du support, l’épaisseur de la matière, la patine du séchage, la remise en eau… La technique permet de mieux connaître ces phénomènes mais ce qui m’intéresse ce sont les points de bascule, les accidents, ces moments où l’eau surprend et célèbre la vie.

Creating soothes and nourishes me. It helps me to be.

I work mainly on paper, with water-based paintings and inks.. I explore, try to trust myself, accept the unknown. Every day I demystify the blank page, listen to my desires and seize the moment by painting.

I love investigating on metamorphosis and transformation. I like to see my work as an invitation to welcome our questions and our doubts, to explore the possibilities, to dare. A useful training for my personal journey.

I am currently working on the unexpected of water: the diffusion of pigments, the mixture of colors, the thirst of the support, the thickness of the material, the patina of drying, and layering... The technique allows to better understand these phenomena but what makes me thrill are the tipping points, the accidents, these moments when water surprises me and celebrates life.
